Radhe Shyam, a 65-year-old vendor of tea, encountered the formidable task of managing his Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with Bronchiectasis due to the absence of advanced medical facilities at the local hospital. The burden of seeking treatment at a private hospital seemed insurmountable for his family of five due to financial constraints. Nonetheless, a glimmer of hope emerged when an Asha worker introduced them to the Ayushman Card program during an outreach program. With the assistance of the program, Radhe shyam was able to access crucial healthcare at R.K. Mission Hospital, a private hospital equipped to address his medical needs. Following a month-long treatment, he was discharged on October 17th, 2023, with restored health and renewed optimism. This initiative has truly brought a ray of hope into Radhe Shyam's life, highlighting the positive impact of the Ayushman Card program in offering essential healthcare
